But wait, stop there. You being, another you, didn't want REX to be found? That makes no sense.

What about the PAL keys? Do you have those somewhere?

Also, where have you been? I can't pick up on your normal codec frequency anymore. Have you been living off instant ramen in your room?

I was confused when I first came here too!



But there really was another me before. He made a lot of bad decisions, including bringing REX here for safekeeping. It was used during something called the Aparoid wars. There's a lot of information most of it protected by heavy security. I never thought I'd have to try hacking into my own datafiles but there's a first time for everything right? It's so bizarre.

I haven't found the PAL keys either. But I know both of them are here. There's nothing I found yet talking about destroying REX

[Silence from Mei Ling while she just looks at him with a combination of disbelief.]

I don't know where to start. Let me try...

First off, somehow... I'm from the future. You have a kid and she took care of you more than you took care of her, but that's not important. So the idea of you having to hack yourself isn't as crazy as it once was.

And you shouldn't be so cut up every time this happens Otacon! Do you want me to come over and help clean up, make you some eggs and toast and generally kick you out of your moping? I can show you my Mk II, which I made from your designs.

[Her expression softens.]

... Let's just forget REX for a moment and concentrate on getting you functional so that we can plan a course of action.
