There are several ways to get into contact with Mei Ling, should you need to.

[ Voicemail ]

"This is Mei Ling. I'm not here but I offer you the ability to leave a message instead. Ciao!"

[ Mobile Phone ]

She has one. A very fancy dev model with lots of features, including email, text messaging, calls. Her email address is available to all students taking her classes. Her phone number on the hand, is much harder to get a hold of.

[ Codec ]

Mei Ling broadcasts at Codec frequency 140.96. If you have one of these nifty things and can get her frequency, then this is the fastest way to get in touch with Mei Ling (but arguably the hardest because involves getting a Codec). Old habits die hard and she wears her codec earpiece all most all the time. She did make it afterall.

What a weird island. It's so mysterious. I don't quite know what's going on.

Normally it's a good thing because it's always good to have adventure and fun but it's just... strange.

I'll try and record what I discover to the best of my ability.

Hello, my name is Mei Ling. I'm a teacher of data analysis here at Smash Academy.

As I am in the trade of collecting data, I am putting out a call to all students and staff to report any incidents involving large robots or things of a mechanical nature of similar stature.

If you have any information regarding such large machinations, please contact me as soon as you can. Any snippets, big or small would be appreciated and will be suitably rewarded.

((Mei Ling is just asking for it with that kind of description, really. Also the stuff she is giving as a reward will vary from food/odd bits of machines/shiny things/basically whatever she found in Otacon's room that wasn't a biohazard that looks interesting.))

We will be known forever by the tracks we leave. That's a Native American proverb.

No matter what you do, no matter what cares you take... ultimately what leaves a deepest impression in the earth is what remains. It's a pretty concise sentence for a big idea.

Have you ever heard the proverb about how you grow a tree for only ten years, but you have to grow men over a hundred?

I guess not then. In English it means that human progress is tied with education and that you have to nurture those skills and talents over time for the betterment of everyone. Which is why I've brought myself here.

There is a time to say goodbye to the military and lead a quieter life, like others I know. Because you can't stay in that kind of environment forever. I loved studying when I was in university and returning the favour is probably the best to do. Plus there will be new people to meet and new technologies to develop. It's a really conducive atmosphere to learning, collaboration - oh.

Really, there's nothing for me to lose. I like having the free time too. Makes it easier to catch up on reading.
